This exciting weekly course is for anyone who is interested in developing their creative skills. 
This course will provide the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of painting and drawing in a practical, friendly and supportive atmosphere.

  • Absolute beginners are recommended to to join Clare's Introduction class before joining ths course
  • Step by step demonstrations
  • Variety of mediums to explore
  • Paint/sketch along with your tutor

Weekly topics and skills covered in the ongoing classes

  • Sketching techniques
  • Mixed media drawing
  • Colour mixing, brush control - acrylics
  • Mono printing
  • Watercolour - introducing creative techniques

Work will be inspired by still life arrangements, photographs and the work of other artists.

Basic materials will be provided, however, it is requested that you bring the following:

  • A must-have for all budding artists - An A3 drawing pad
  • The type suggested is an A3 Daler & Rowney Mixed Media pad, spiral bound - you will be able to keep all your work in here during your course and of course use it for practising when at home.
  • A reasonable-quality set of acrylic brushes, which you will be able to use at home as well as in class
  • If you have any of your own materials please feel free to bring these to class with you..
  • A basic pencil case with sketching pencils and rubber
  • An old top as some weeks we may get messy (although aprons are provided)
Clare will be happy to provide advise on any materials you may wish to purchase so you know you will be purchasing the right things for your new hobby.

Drawing and Painting takes place at Vitreus Art @ Wakefield, 5 miles north of Milton Keynes. The course is structured as a 4 / 5 / 6-week term and bookings are for all sessions, on the dates below.

About Clare Tebboth

Clare works predominantly in oils, her loose style making use of both brushes and palette knives.  She enjoys the richness of oil paint and the luxurious finish it gives to paintings.
Having grown up in Norfolk and enjoying frequent childhood trips to windswept beaches, her work is often based around the sea and the special mood that a wintry beach creates..

Clare has 19 years experience in the classroom teaching and has developed a reputation for fun and stimulating adult art workshops. Clare welcomes commissions and enjoys working with clients to create unique pieces of artwork.

She is a Member of the Society of All Artists and Chair of Buckingham Art for all.
