Textile Sculpture for Beginners
1 day course with Liz Dixon - Triptych

"I had great fun and loved the friendly, informal atmosphere.  Would love to do more courses!" - Kay

This full day workshop will enable you to make your own beautiful & unique piece of abstract art using products from the Powertex range in conjunction with recycled textiles, structure paste & bister sprays.
Learn how to create texture & balance across all three panels so that they work as a whole, add colours of your choice & embellish with dry brushing techniques.

The workshops are run with an informal, relaxed feel in small groups to ensure you get the attention you need to achieve great results.

Before we start we will spend a few minutes getting to know each other over a cup of tea or coffee before receiving a brief explanation of the materials you will be using during the workshop.
You will also have the opportunity to see some examples of Powertex art & fabric sculptures for inspiration.
You will then create your own Triptych under the expert tuition of Liz Dixon, an approved Powertex trainer.
At the end of the workshop you will take your finished creation to display in your home.
Examples of Liz's work will be available for inspiration and ideas.
Each session costs £95 per person including materials, use of tools, refreshments and lunch.

All materials will be provided but you may wish to bring the following:

  • A sketch book to jot ideas down
  • 'Found objects' that could be incorporated in to your sculpture - beads, buttons, small pieces of driftwood, sea glass, etc
  • An old top as we may get messy (although aprons are provided)
