Textile Sculpture for Beginners
1 day themed courses with Liz Dixon

"I had great fun and loved the friendly, informal atmosphere.  Would love to do more courses!" - Kay

This full day workshop will enable you to make your own beautiful & unique, weather resistant sculpture using products from the Powertex range in conjunction with recycled T-shirts & other natural fibre materials.

The workshops are run with an informal, relaxed feel in small groups to ensure you get the attention you need to achieve great results.

Before we start we will spend a few minutes getting to know each other over a cup of tea or coffee before receiving a brief explanation of the materials you will be using during the workshop.  You will also have the opportunity to see some examples of Powertex fabric sculptures to give you ideas.
You will then create your own sculpture under the expert tuition of Liz Dixon, an approved Powertex trainer.
At the end of the workshop you will take home your creation, which can either stay indoors or, after a 3 week 'cure time', will be suitable for outdoor display.

Examples of Liz' work will be available for inspiration and ideas.

Each session costs £95 per person including materials, use of tools, refreshments and lunch.

All materials will be provided but you may wish to bring the following:

  • A sketch book to jot ideas down
  • 'Found objects' that could be incorporated in to your sculpture - beads, buttons, small pieces of driftwood, sea glass, etc
  • An old top as we may get messy (although aprons are provided)
