Half-day copper foiling stained glass beginners class for up to 6 people - 3d Flower (in pot) or Butterfly Suncatcher or Plant Stake or Cactus or Christmas Tree or Star
We start out by learning some basic glass cutting techniques using the same tools we use ourselves. You'll then cut the coloured glass for your piece and move on to grinding the edges smooth. Once ready, you'll apply the coppper foil, and solder the pieces together.
For October, November and December we offer a choice of Chritmas themed pprojects included a 3d Tree or multi-layered star - all in your choice of colours/
If you choose to make a flower we'll teach you how to solder the petals and centre together, and how to attach the flower to its stem; you should have time to add a leaf and then 'plant' your flower in the pot we provide! The cactus pproject is constructed in a similar style.
If you choose to make a butterfly you'll solder the wings together and then solder wire antennae on; the final stage is to attach the butterfly to a copper stake or add legs for a freestanding piece, or wire loops to hang from fishing line.
At each stage we'll show you the tools, materials and skills you'll need to complete your butterfly project.
