Vitreus Art Covid-19 Update - 27th November 2020

Following the Government guidance published on the 23rd November 2020 for Local COVID alert levels from the 2nd December 2020, we have outlined what this means for Vitreus Art classes due to run in December and beyond.

At time of writing Northamptonshire is in Tier 2, with local restrictions coming in to force on Dec 2nd. Restrictions in all three Tiers are listed for reference, and in case the present Tier status of Northamptonshire is changed when the Tiers are next reviewed.

Tier 1 (Medium)
Classes will continue to run as planned. No group larger than 6 (from separate households) can attend as part of one booking. Social distancing measures will be in place during the class and face coverings are mandatory for all in attendance.

Vitreus Art classes are all limited to 4 where lunch is included and 5 for all other workshops, resulting in a group of maximum 6 or fewer.

Tier 2 (High)
Classes will continue to run as planned. Bookings for more than 1 person must be with other members of your household or support bubble. Social distancing measures will be in place during the class and face coverings are mandatory for all in attendance.

Vitreus Art classes are all limited to 4 where lunch is included and 5 for all other workshops, resulting in a group of maximum 6 or fewer.

Tier 3 (Very High)
Classes will be postponed and students will be sent an email rebooking options.

Will workshops be open only for private household bookings under Tier 2 restrictions?

No, as Vitreus Art is organising your class as part of our education business, we are able to host up to 5 people (or the size of a household) plus one tutor in any one class as long as they and we comply with social distancing measures and the NHS Test and Trace System (information which we already record when you book).

As above, Vitreus Art classes are all limited to 4 where lunch is included and 5 for all other workshops, resulting in a group of maximum 6 or fewer.

What safety measures are we at Vitreus Art taking?
To ensure the safety of all of us we have outlined a number of measures that we and HM Government require for In-person classes until further notice.

COVID-19 Secure Measures
Vitreus Art will:

  • For the purposes of NHS Test & Trace, display an official NHS QR code poster from so that customers and visitors can optionally ‘check in’ (in addition to contact details already recorded on booking).
  • Keep a record of all staff working on our premises and duty times on a given day and their contact details.
  • Complete a risk assessment of our business and premises using guidance from the Government body HSE.  This is displayed on the Vitreus Art website.
  • Set a maximum number of participants per class at our premises (including the teacher) in order to comply with social distancing measures
  • Ensure working spaces are 2 meters apart (or more), including additional benches for lunch
  • Ensure the use of face coverings for all students, teachers and staff when onsite – providing clear face visors for each student
  • Sanitise materials and tools before use as far as is possible, and minimise sharing of resources
  • Provide clean aprons and goggles for each student, which are washed or sanitised before the next use
  • Provide hand sanitizer and hand-washing facilities as students enter our premises to reduce the risk of transmission.
  • Provide clear guidance on social distancing and hygiene to students on arrival.
  • Suspend or reduce teacher guidance that cannot be undertaken without contravening social distancing guidelines. This may involve changing how we interact with you during classes.
  • Conduct frequent cleaning of work areas and equipment between uses, using appropriate cleaning products.
    a) Set clear use and cleaning guidance for toilets to ensure they are kept clean and social distancing is achieved as much as possible.
    b) Provide more waste facilities and more frequent rubbish collection.
