Art Workshops COVID-19 Update

Relating to all workshops and courses currently held at Vitreus Art - as at July 19th 2021

Vitreus Art Covid-19 Update - 19th July 2021

Following the latest Government updates to COVID restrictions taking effect from July 19th, Jenny and Mike (t/a Vitreus Art) have taken the decision to continue to require mask wearing in the gallery, and for all students attending workshops.

This policy is non-negotiable and will continue until the broad medical consensus is that it's safe to relax these simple and modest measures.

Any workshop attendees who aren’t prepared to wear a visor without a genuine medical exemption will be re-booked on a future date when the number of cases and R-rate are under control – whenever that might be.

Workshops that were due to be held in January therough to May have been re-scheduled and all students due to attend have been ofered a choice of dates, a credit note or a refund.

We continue to follow guidance published by the Government and are operating according to regulations advised by the Government. Until that changes from the 'Secure Business Audit' system, this will be the basis for our workshop Covid precations, as listed below.

Vitreus Art classes are all limited to 4 or 5 where lunch is included and 5 for all other workshops, resulting in a group of maximum 6 or fewer.

What safety measures are we at Vitreus Art taking?
To ensure the safety of all of us we have outlined a number of measures that we and HM Government require for In-person classes until further notice. Note - these measures continue to be in place after July 19th 2021.

COVID-19 Secure Measures
Vitreus Art will:

  • For the purposes of NHS Test & Trace, display an official NHS QR code poster from so that customers and visitors can optionally ‘check in’ (in addition to contact details already recorded on booking).
  • Keep a record of all staff working on our premises and duty times on a given day and their contact details.
  • Complete a risk assessment of our business and premises using guidance from the Government body HSE.  This is displayed on the Vitreus Art website.
  • Set a maximum number of participants per class at our premises (including the teacher) in order to comply with social distancing measures
  • Take infra-red temperature readings for students on arrival, and show our own readings before each class begins.
  • Ensure working spaces are 2 meters apart (or more), including additional benches for lunch
  • Ensure the use of face coverings for all students, teachers and staff when onsite – providing clear face visors for each student
  • Sanitise materials and tools before use as far as is possible, and minimise sharing of resources
  • Provide clean aprons and goggles for each student, which are washed or sanitised before the next use
  • Provide hand sanitizer and hand-washing facilities as students enter our premises to reduce the risk of transmission.
  • Provide clear guidance on social distancing and hygiene to students on arrival.
  • Suspend or reduce teacher guidance that cannot be undertaken without contravening social distancing guidelines. This may involve changing how we interact with you during classes.
  • Conduct frequent cleaning of work areas and equipment between uses, using appropriate cleaning products.
    a) Set clear use and cleaning guidance for toilets to ensure they are kept clean and social distancing is achieved as much as possible.
    b) Provide more waste facilities and more frequent rubbish collection.
  • Tutors at Vitreus Art are taking LFD tests 3 times a week and reporting the results
  • In case of a positive result workshops will be postponed and re-scheduled as needed, or refunds or credit notes issued.

What to do if you are unable to attend a workshop you have booked due to illness, local restrictions or a requirement to quarantine or self-isolate.

If you discover you are unwell, or have Covid-symptoms, or have to isolate, please get in touch straightaway. Please just don’t turn up!
We will transfer your place to the next available date we have free, or offer you a choice of alternative dates.
If we can’t find a date that suits you, we will offer you a credit note for the value of the class fee paid which can be redeemed within a year for any purchase at Vitreus Art.
We may, at our discretion, agree a refund if all other alternatives have been exhausted.

We may, at our discretion, agree a refund if all other alternatives have been exhausted.

Can I book a workshop now and move the date if I have to?

Yes. We've added dates for workshops for later in the year so you can book your place on the workshop of your choice. If it's necessary to move the date we'll work with you to find a date that suits you.

As class sizes are small, priority for bookings is given to those who booked previously or hold a credit note issued earlier.
