This privacy policy describes how Vitreus Art uses and protects any information that you give Vitreus Art when you use this website.
Vitreus Art is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy.
Vitreus Art may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 1st January 2018.
About the EU GDPR - General Data Protection Regulations.
From May 2018 enhanced regulations come in to force that govern how organisations use and transfer data about you.
Firstly, you have the following rights in respect of personal data held about you:

- Right to object: An individual may prohibit certain data uses.
- Right to rectification: Individuals may request that incomplete data be completed or that incorrect data be corrected.

Secondly, how organisations gain consent to hold and use your personal data are being tightened up. We seek consent to hold and use personal data from our customers and subscribers for these purposes only:
To keep you up to date on offers, our activities and possible reasons to contact us in a business context.
We don't ask for a phone number or address when inviting you to join our mailing list.
We will not use the personal data you provide when subscribing to our newsletters for other purposes so the consent you give is specific to this use.
When you subscribe using the forms on this website your IP address and region is collected by our mailing list provide Mailchimp for the purposes of recording your consent to receive our emails. This is required by the EU regulations.
We operate a double Opt-In process which asks you to confirm your subscription by email before adding you to our list.
We only collect the following information:
- First Name and Last Name
- Contact information limited to email address
We collect the following information in order to fulfill our transaction with you if you buy something from us:
- Name and address, telephone numbers.
- Email address.
- A delivery address if different from your main address.
Please note: if you purchase via our website using a credit or debit card, your card details are entered directly into our SSL secured merchant portal (PayPal) and are not seen or retained by us.
We do not have access to your credit card details during the transaction.
If a credit or refund is necessary, this facility is provided by our merchant provider via their secure portal.
We will not retain your details in order to facilitate this.
What we do with the information we gather
If you subscribe to our email newsletters we will only use your personal data to send these emails. We do not engage in tele-marketing, 3rd party marketing or list exchange activities.
Our maiing list and email processing provider - Mailchimp
We use Mailchimp to manage our mailing lists, handle your mailing preferences, send our emails and ensure unsubscribes are taken off our lists.
Mailchimp adheres to best practice, and operates within the applicable laws, including EU GDPR. As it is a US company transferring date out of the EU it manages its compliance with data transfer requirements. This is it's basic statement to this effect:
MailChimp has self-certified to both the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield regimes, and lawfully transfers EU/EEA personal data to the U.S. pursuant to our Privacy Shield Certification. We also complete a SOC II Type 2 examination on an annual basis for the Trust Principal Criteria of Security, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Availability.
Mailchimp provides the facility to Vitreus Art to comply with data removal or correction requests you make within the EU GDPR.
If you book a class or buy a piece of art online from this website
When you book and pay for a class or course online we receive the following personal data about you from our payment provider PayPal:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your physical address
- The transaction code for your payment with the amount and the fee we will pay to PayPal
- The description of what you bought
- If you paid with a PayPal account or a credit / debit card
This information is necessary for us to complete your booking.
After the class has been delivered we archive this information in case we need to review the transaction at some time in the future. You may ask us to delete this information permanently.
Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
How we use cookies
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. At present we don't use cookies to track your use of our website but this may change.
PayPal may use cookies when processing card payments for our classes or artwork for sale and these are handled by PayPal without access available to us.
Our web hosting company gathers aggregated and anonymised data about which kind of web browser you use when visiting our site, which region you are in and which pages you look at and for how long. This aggregated data is available to us only as visit statistics, which can't be used to identify you.
A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us. You can choose to accept or decline cookies.
