Fused Glass Ocean Wave Workshop for Beginners Glass Fusing workshops with Mike Caddy
"A fantastic day, would highly recommend." - Maureen
Fused Glass Ocean Wave - make your own glass Ocean Wave art approx 250mm wide on this 1-day workshop suitable for beginners.
Discover the pleasure of glass fusing while making your very own Ocean Wave glass art - complete with display base or metal garden stand.
The materials and tools needed to create your own Wave are provided, with enough time to make a piece like the ones shown.
You'll be using float glass, coloured frit and glass you'll crush with a hammer to make the water 'spray' for your wave.
You'll start by cutting a number of glass shapes out of glass under our expert guidance.
You'll then lay out the first layer, and build up the overlaping second layer to ensure a strong end result.
Then it's time to add coloured glass frit and crushed clear glass if desired to create your own individual sea-themed piece of glass art. After firing you'll be able to collect your completed glass wave with its base or metal garden stand, which we'll supply. You're now ready to enjoy your art at home!
This class will give you a brief introduction to glass cutting, basic tack fusing, including the difference between the types of glass you can fuse with, and some of the essentials of kiln operation and is suitable for all levels, especially beginners.
The course cost of £159 inc VAT (wood or slate base) or £169 inc VAT (metal stand) includes:
All the float glass, frit and other materials needed to make your wave
Use of all tools, apron, goggles and other protective gear
Lunch & Refreshments during the class
Maximum class size 6 people
Your wave to collect after firing in the kiln (approx 1 week)
A slate base or metal stand to display your piece on
