Screen Printing with Fused Glass Workshop for Beginners
"Lovely course in wonderful surroundings ." - Julia
Screen Printing with Fused Glass - make two pieces of screen printed fused art approx 200mm wide on this 1-day workshop suitable for beginners.
Learn how to create stylish and detailed images with fused glass while learning about fusing.
The materials and tools needed to create your own screen printed art are provided, with enough time to make two pieces like the ones shown.
You'll be using coloued glass ppowders and making stencils to make two pieces of glass art, each approx 15x20cm in size.
You'll learn how to create a stencil-ready design, cut out your designs in card and then transfer your design on to the surface of your glass using a silk-screen and coloured glass powders. When fired, your images will be permanently fused to the surface of the glass.
This class will give you an introduction to screen printing with powders - a great way to make crisper and more detailed images than normally achieved with frits and enamels.
We suggest you come with design ideas suitable for cutting in to a stencil, and consider how you will cut your design out of card with a scalpel. We can help you create your design, as well as help you scale your image to fit the glass size of 15x20cm.
After firing your fused glass images will be ready to take home.
The course cost of £139 inc VAT includes:
- All the glass, powders and other materials needed to make your two art pieces
- Use of all tools, apron, mask and other protective gear
- Lunch from the Bell Cafe & Refreshments during the class
- Maximum class size 4 people
