Make an amazing piece of garden art using mosaic techniques in four sessions.

On this new course you'll use mosaic techniques, mirror and art glass to make a stunning piece of garden glass art you can enjoy all year round.
This form of mosaic is usually referred to as Glass Applique because you'll be decorating your garden art with pieces of glass, all glued on to a sturdy piece of mirror.
Glass applique like this is perfect for gardens (and anywhere indoors as well!) - giving
a bright, colourful and glossy end result.
Over four sessions you can choose to make an impressive garden totem standing a metre tall overall with a 75x15cm glass section or you can create a 50cm round mirror which can be displayed indoors or in your garden!
This course is suitable for all levels including beginners; full tuition will be given throughout and all the materials needed are provided.
Garden Glass Art Mosaic course for up to 6 people over four sessions
The course follows this structure:
- Creating your design and choosing the coloured glass you'll use
- Preparing and protecting the mirror to stay looking good outdoors
- Learning to cut and shape the coloured glass using modern glass cutters and mosaic nippers
- Transferring your design to the mirror
- Gluing the glass tesserae to the mirror securely
- Completing your design with other glass objects if wanted
- After drying, grouting the finished piece and final cleaning
- For garden panels we'll add a metal stake to keep your piece upright
At the conclusion of the course you’ll have a beautiful piece of glass and mirror art created using a mix of ancient and modern glass techniques to take home!
The course cost of £299 inc VAT includes:
- Fully tutored course over four afternoon sessions
- All materials, 50cm round or 75x15cm tall mirror and coloured glass
- Use of tools and protective gear
- Refreshments during the session including herbal teas, decaffeinated drinks & gluten-free biscuits
- Maximum class size 6 people
- Hanging hardware for round mirrors; metal garden spike for garden pieces
- Your piece to take home
- Class runs from 1pm to approx 4pm each session at our Northants studio near Towcester

Our classes are suitable for anyone over 18, although we do advise that anyone with a medical condition that limits their hand strength or control, or their ability to stand for periods of time contact us before booking to discuss.
With a maximum of 6 students you can be sure of plenty of attention and guidance throughout the class.
