Designing for Stained GlassLearn the art of designing for stained glass - a 1-day class for those with some experience in making stained glass"Excellent class, great teachers, really rewarding..." - Tricia This one-day course is perfect for those with some stained glass construction experience and who want to learn to design their own projects. This course is not suitable for beginners! Our stained glass design class - course structureThe course will give you the confidence and skills to begin designing your own stained glass projects, plus some experience in tackling tricky cuts and a greater understanding of the design constraints. We begin with a tea or coffee and a group discussion of who’s who and a review of our objectives in stained glass. This allows us to tailor the content to offer the most useful guidance for each participant. We will then study the most commonly encountered glass cutting constraints – what can and can’t be cut in glass and the effects these constraints have on the design. Next we will study overall design constraints with examples – aiming to ensure strength, design balance and ease of construction. After lunch we will consider how to translate a picture in to a design, with examples. To conclude the class, each student (and we) will present a picture of a stained glass design they like – either their own or someone else’s – and discuss why they like it, with group feedback. What's included in the course cost of £140 inc VAT per person
