Traditional Stained Glass Painting Workshop Learn the essentials of traditional stained glass painting in half a day!
"The style of teaching was perfect for me and loads better than any other course I’ve been on." - Karen
Our new half-day introduction to the traditional method of painting stained glass with metallic oxides will give you a grounding in the essential techniques of paint mixing, applying, mark-making, stippling, brushing and sgraffito with oxides similar to those used in mediaeval windows
This course is ideal for those who've done some leaded stained glass with us or elsewhere.
The techniques you'll learn can be applied to leaded glass, copper foiling, garden glass art and lamps or lanterns. The natural follow-on to this workshop is our 2-day Traditional Stained Glass Complete Course.
Half-day stained glass painting class for up to 6 people
You'll learn the essential mixing and application techniques, including safely working with toxic metallic oxides to begin with.
You'll then practice these fundamentals on a piece of window glass and then create a simple design using any or all of the techniques you've tried and paint your design on to a piece of coloured art glass, ready for firing.
It's not necessary to have formal painting experience for this workshop.
